Tutorials on Etsy

At last I’ve made the leap. SaraDippit Designs now has an Etsy shop with three polymer clay tutorials for sale. All are suitable for beginners and can be created without a pasta machine.

The printable PDF tutorials provide step-by-step directions with photos. Upon purchase, they can be instantly downloaded to your computer.

Flower Power Coaster. In my beginner-level polymer clay classes, the stamped coaster embellished with Pearl Ex powders is the most popular project. It’s easier than it looks and can be completed in two hours, even without a pasta machine. The Flower Power impression is made with a stamp called “Fresh Blooms,” available from Stampendous.

Surprise Heart Pendant. No one would guess that the pretty image on this pendant is actually a water tattoo. This project is suitable for adults or kids. No jewelry-making skills are needed.

Lustrous Beads. These shimmering beads often invite “how did you do that?” comments. Powders applied to polymer clay create the luster. You can even get stunning results with scrap clay. The tutorial includes tips for making beads of uniform size and making perfect stringing holes. (You can also see the hole-stringing tip on this blog.)
